Yoga Teaches Most of What We See Is A Projection Of Our Mind
The words we use to describe ‘our story’ change as we change. The story of our individual history reveals more about who we are in the present then who we were then.
As we grow and change, we perceive the events and people in our lives differently. The story we tell reveals our current understanding. Most of our story is very fluid, evolves as we evolve, and paints a picture of our internal reality.
The characters we keep our attention on in our story often reappear as different people during our life journey. These characters are often archetypes that represent something special to us as teachers, or what we are attracted to learning. We may also see similar patterns or symbols that continue to show up for us, or create repeating themes. Some of these symbols may be from universal consciousness, or unique to us as individuals.
Meditation Frees Us From Our External Projections
How we interpret the collective projections (archetypal figures, relationships, symbols) of our external experiences reveal a great deal about what is happening internally. Meditation is the most powerful support system that we can cultivate to sustain the exploration of our external experience. The practice of meditation develops a safe internal platform. It enhances our inner stillness. The point of stillness is inside each of us. It acts as our center.
Meditation allows us to be conscious during the slideshow of our external projections. It helps us become aware of the story we create. It brings forth repetitive symbols into our conscious awareness. It strengthens our intuition, enables us to interpret a greater story of which we are a part. Most importantly it meditation detangles us from our external reality so that we no longer respond reactively. It diffuses emotional wounds, assists the healing process, deeply nourishes the nervous system, and strengthens our mind. It does this by expanding the light of awareness so that we can see the beautiful connection between our internal reality an external experience, and increases the comprehension of the universal story that we are each a part of.
The meditation exercises and experiences that are shared with you on this site are meant to assist in the exploration of your external experience, and its connections to your inner reality. This will help to make you strong, and enable you to consciously move from the center.
