Ayurveda teaches several ways to help maintain hair and scalp health. Our medicinal thailams specifically for the head, such as brahmi or amla oil, assist with deeply nourishing the hair follicles, diminishing grey hair, and stimulating hair regrowth.
Herbal hair rinses can be made to condition dry hair, balance an oily scalp, or purify the scalp and hair of product residue.
Traditionally, ayurveda uses herbal hair rinses after an abhyanga oil treatment. Hamsa Ayurveda & Yoga Center in Chicago, uses a Amla Herbal Hair Rinse following shirodhara treatments done at their center.
Amla is known for its high Vitamin C content. It also reduces excess pitta dosha, calms the mind, and enhances focus. Brahmi nourishes the hair follicle, cools, and stimulates clear perception. Rose cleanses, nourishes and rejuvenates. Calendula is anti-inflammatory and burdock roots condition the hair.
